Colombo: Pettah Interchange 2016

Pettah Interchange is back this weekend – Saturday 6 August 2016 – Colombo’s annual celebration of alternative art culture and music which has been transforming abandoned and neglected urban spaces in Colombo for 5 consecutive years now.

Border Movement are proud partners of this event series initiated by the Goethe-Institut which initially served as a platform in 2012 to showcase original material created by musicians from Germany and South Asia during the first ‘Sound Camp’ artist residency. The last four years have seen the event evolve into one of Colombo’s most eagerly anticipated and celebrated alternative music events – each year taking place within the walls of crumbling colonial buildings, grubby market places and abandoned cinema halls.

With a lineup featuring over a dozen musicians from Germany, India, Pakistan, The Maldives and Sri Lanka, Pettah Interchange will once again stun music lovers with its choice of venue, set to take place inside the stunning Transworks building, an abandoned colonial structure that has stood for over 100 years in the heart of Colombo.

Tickets are available on the gate for LKR3500 – doors open at 9pm. Full lineup in the poster below and further information can be found on the Facebook event here.
