There was once a time when clubs would not play anything except Bollywood and that was all that the audience knew. But ever since the 90s, not only has liberalisation and globalisation changed the currency value, it has also brought about significant changes in the culture-scape of the country.

Today a lot of bedroom producers find their way on stage, very quickly after putting out their music and without necessarily having honed their skills as DJs. At the same time, Indian audiences are looking for something more than the obvious, they are craving an alternative to the Bollywood/commercial norm.
